How to Restore Your iPhone Unlock Ticket [SAM]

These are instructions on how to restore your iPhone unlock ticket obtained using the SAM unlock method.

If you've unlocked with SAM but haven't backed up your unlock ticket, you should do so immediately by following this tutorial. To follow these instructions you will need to have the unlock ticket and iFile installed. You can get iFile from Cydia.

Step One
Insert your previously unlocked SIM card and make sure SAM is disabled in SAMPrefs.


Step Two
Email yourself the zip archive created when you backed up your unlock ticket. Open the email on your iPhone and tap to open the attachment. When prompted to select an application to open the attachment with choose iFile.


Step Three
When iFile opens it will ask you to choose between Zip Viewer and Unarchiver. Choose Unarchiver and tap the Done button when it's completed extracting.


Step Four
Tap the Edit button at the top right of the screen and select the Lockdown folder that was just extracted.


Step Five
Press the Clipboard button at the bottom right and choose Copy/Link from the popup menu. Then press the Done button at the top right of the screen.


Step Six
Use the back button at the top left of the screen to navigate to the /var/root/Library folder. Press the Edit button at the top right of the screen and select the Lockdown folder.


Step Seven
Tap the Trash icon at the bottom of the screen and choose Move File to Trash from the menu that appears.


Step Eight
Tap the Clipboard icon at the bottom right of the screen and choose Paste from the menu that appears.


Step Nine
Press the Done button at the top right of the screen then reboot your device.


Step Ten
Once your iPhone has been restarted it will pick up the network for the unlocked SIM card.

iPhone "device is not eligible, 3194" error while trying to Restore below 4.3

As Usual Apple closes it's signature verification for iPhone for Restoring below 4.3 because it will always close old firmware verification whenever new version will come.
So People having problem has only one method to use,that is Custom firmware at the moment.
If you try to use Custom firmware without PWN DFU you will get error 16xx,3194.

So any thread or Posts about this problem will be deleted without notification.

P.S.
Various methods to check Bootrom version of 3GS

1. Model Number of New Bootrom phones start with "MC"
2. Serial number is XXX4XXXXXXX or XXX0XXXXXXX
3. Handset should be in DFU mode
Device Manager on your Windows PC.
Look for 'Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller', you will find 'Apple Mobile Device USB Driver' as a sub item there.
Right Click and choose 'Properties', navigate to 'Details' tab and select Device Instance Path from the dropdown list.
At the end of this information string you will find the bootrom version, i.e. (iBoot-359.3.2) or up who knows
if this Method not work for you,Use Another Method.


Another Method to flash 3G,3GS,4 if Saurik server has SHSH for required firmware.

EasyJailbreakBatch Tool v1.1 by zeezoo

Sometimes people are confused which redsn0w to use to jailbreak their iPhone iOS.
I've made a little dos-batch type tool which should make jailbreak process a bit easier.

I'm not a programmer, so there may be some errors in the software but I've been testing it for last 2 days in Windows XP and works fine so far. Vista/7 is also supported but need some tests. Please let me know if anything is working incorrectly.

What that program does?

Once downloaded will create iPhone folder on your desktop and copy all required files over there. After that you just have to choose which iOS version you have in your phone (maybe in the future program will do it all automatically) and then my software will find out and download redsn0w which supports chosen model and iOS.
You can also check which version is your phone running on by typing f and pressing [enter] - f0recast software used. Will download new version if available.
Also if required .ipsw doesn't exist in default apple folder my tool will get the iOS directly from apple server. Please copy all .ipsw to iPhone/ipsw folder located on desktop.

I can make the software to find out where is the .ipsw file located but... it will take a lot of time to scan whole partition and my idea was to make software which works as fast as possible.

Please make sure that You have chosen the right iOS and right phone. Otherwise it may broke iPhone software and you will have to restore the phone to stock firmware (usually the latest if SHSH blobs not saved)

Please use upd8.exe file to download software from my server. Every time you run upd8.exe will delete old one and get new executable.

Notice:
For iPhone 2G 3.1.2/3.1.3 you will need to point for the .ipsw manually as commandline is not implemented in redsn0w-win_0.9.4.
Program will get both bootloaders required and correct redsn0w version.

All redsn0w files are stored on my private server. I couldn't manage to make the software getting them from official links but they are untouched.
No viruses or other malware. All files checked with AVG antivirus.

Software was made to help and make whole process easier and quicker.
Anyway I'm not taking any responsibility. If anything goes wrong don't blame me.

I'll do my best to keep software updated when new redsn0w will be released.

- I didn't notice before that iTunes keeps only the latest software in default ipsw folder. From now my program is checking default folder and if it doesn't find correct file it will check ipsw folder located in iPhone folder on desktop and if it doesn't find it there it will get it from apple server.
To get new executable please use upd8.exe or type "u" in batch window and press enter. Anyway program will show that there is update available and give you instructions.

Update on iphone 4 unlock on basebands 02.10.01 & 03.10.01

Since there is a lot of confusion out there, and since I'm repeating myself all the time (which I do not really like), I made this little write up of questions that are continuously being asked (my personal FAQ). Please not that this is a global explanation. Don't try to argue with me on specific details.

1. What happend?! I thought the unlock for basebands 02.10.01 & 03.10.01 would be released within the next 2 weeks?
As you know the Dev-Team (MuscleNerd) have been working on the unlock for quite a while now. They were making great progress on the unlock, but they found out that they (accidentally) unlocked "one particular SIM card" instead of the baseband itself. Which means that the unlock would only be an unlock you could use with MuscleNerd's T-Mobile SIM. So, useless. If the unlock would unlock the baseband instead of "the SIM", it'd probably be out within 2 weeks (reasonable timeframe which they had hoped). But things turned out to be different. Basically these <2 weeks predictions were a lack of information.

2. What is this NCK-key cracking? How does it work?
The NCK-key is the key generated by Apple if you'd officially unlock you iPhone, and with officially I mean, via your carrier. This "NCK-unlock" method is known over a few years now, actually since geohot started working on unlocking the iPhone 2G. He developed a program that could "crack" this 15 digits long key and unique for every device. Geohots NCKBF program could do around 100,000 keys/second which would produce a hit in many years, or complete a search in 317 years. To get to a point where this is actually doable we would need many orders of magnitude of improvement. Even if you use a PS3 (would we still want to use this??) or special hardware (within 1,000 US$ range) you will only get an improvement of 20-100 times.. which doesn't help much.
Now, luckily, with the exploits they have now, they can't unlock your baseband, but they *can* capture more information from the baseband to speed up this cracking process. Since the NORID and CHIPID (unique for every device) are known, you'd apparently only have to check 40 more bits (5 digits). A 40 bits key is theoretically crackable on "home hardware" within a week (24/7). The downside of this approach is that you'll have to keep your computer turned on, and your iPhone has to be connected. And that is the reason why they never tried it before. Please note that this method is completely theorical and has been NOT tried at all till this moment.

3. Now what? Should I sell my locked iPhone 4?
I'd wait for more information on this "NCK-unlock". Right now it's pretty vague what timeframe we're talking about. If the Dev-Team can pull this method off, it'd be very promising for those waiting for an unlock. If this method turns out to be not doable, I'd consider selling your iPhone 4 and save up for a factory unlocked iPhone 5.

4. Do you think there is every going to be an unlock?
Of course. But that's unlikely to be any time soon (with soon being <1 month).

5. If the NCK method fails, how long do you think it will take for the Dev-Team to unlock the iPhone 4?
No ETA at all. Could be a few weeks, but it could easily be a few months as well.

iPhone Dev-Team Announces UltraSn0w Unlock

The iPhone Dev-Team has announced the UltraSn0w unlock for iPhones running the 3.0 firmware.

The UltraSn0w unlock will be released on Friday and will be applied in the same manner as the previous yellowsn0w unlock. The procedure will work on the 4.26.08 baseband version so all those who accidentally updated to the latest baseband will be able to regain their unlock.

Unlock iOS 4.3.1 on iPhone 4, 3GS Using Ultrasn0w [How To Guide]

The newly released Sn0wbreeze 2.4 supports Ultrasn0w unlock for iPhone 4 and 3GS users (old basebands only) which otherwise happens to be broken on the latest iOS 4.3.1 firmware.

If you have jailbroken your iPhone 4/3GS (old basebands only) on iOS 4.3.1 using Sn0wbreeze 2.4, and you rely on an unlock, you can use Ultrasn0w to unlock your iPhone on this latest firmware so that you can use it on any carrier you like.

The following step by step instructions will help you jailbreak and unlock supported iPhone 4 and 3GS running on iOS 4.3.1. However before we proceed, please make note of the following:

• Sn0wbreeze 2.4 supports Ultrasn0w unlock for basebands (01.59.00 / 04.26.08 / 05.11.07 / 05.12.01 / 05.13.04 / 06.15.00)
• ultrasn0w is NOT compatible with the following basebands (02.10.04 / 03.10.01 / 04.10.01 / 05.14.02 / 05.15.04)
• iPhone 3GS users can upgrade to 06.15.00 baseband now under Unlocks section in Expert.
• Upgrading iPhone 3GS baseband to the 06.15.00 iPad baseband hack to unlock MAY cause you to lose your GPS!
• There is NO unlock for the stock iOS 4.3.1 (latest baseband) yet. If your iPhone relies on a unlock, DO NOT update to stock iOS 4.3.1 yet.
• Sn0wbreeze is a tethered iOS 4.3.1 jailbreak for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.

For iPhone 3GS Only: How to Update iPhone 3GS to 06.15.00 Baseband for Unlock:
Ultrasn0w 1.2 unlocking requires that your iPhone 3GS is jailbroken with 06.15.00 baseband. Follow the complete guide posted here (with PwnageTool) or here (for Redsn0w) to update your iPhone 3GS baseband to 06.15.00 and jailbreak it on iOS 4.1 / 4.2.1 before proceeding with the following steps.

Step 1: First up, you will have to jailbreak your iPhone 4 or 3GS using Sn0wbreeze 2.4. Instructions for jailbreaking iOS 4.3.1 using this new version of Sn0wbreeze for iOS 4.3.1 are exactly similar to the last release. Simply follow our detailed step by step guide posted here to jailbreak iPhone 4, 3GS, iPod touch 4G / 3G and iPad running the latest iOS 4.3.1 firmware.

Step 2: Once you are done with the jailbreak, you can now unlock your iPhone on the supported basebands using Ultrasn0w 1.2 from Cydia. To do this:

• Start “Cydia” on your iPhone.

• Touch on “Manage” tab on the bottom.

• Now touch on “Sources” as seen in the screenshot below:

• Touch on “Edit” and then on “Add”. You will be prompted to enter a url source as seen in the screenshot below. Type “http://repo666.ultrasn0w.com” and touch on“Add Source” to add this repo if you haven’t already.

Cydia will now automatically update your sources by following a series of automated steps.

• After installation is completed. Search for “ultrasn0w 1.2” in Cydia and install this application. This app will automatically unlock your iPhone so that you can use it with any carrier.

Step 3: Now simply restart your iPhone and voila! you should now have a fully unlocked iPhone 4 or 3GS, running iOS 4.3.1 !

Basebands 05.14.02, 05.15.04, 05.16.00 Unlock Status

MuscleNerd of iPhone dev-team has leaked some updates regarding iPhone 3GS baseband downgrade, which will help users who stuck on baseband 5.14.02, 5.15.04 and 5.16.00 to upgrade to 6.15.00 then downgrade to 5.13.04 baseband which is already can be unlocked with the existing version of Ultrasnow.

for those at 05.14, 05.15 or 05.16 I really don't see an unlock coming. Rather, it'll be: update to 06.15, then down to 05.13

(because the downgrade from 06.15 goal is much higher priority than explicit 05.14,05.15, or 05.16 unlock. Achieves same.)

But they won't develop a direct method to unlock 5.14.02, 5.15.04 and 5.16.00 basebands. Moreover this downgrade will fix the GPS issue which found after upgrading to iPad baseband 6.15.00.

Step 1 ::

First you need to open Redsn0w 0.9.6b2 in Windows. The first screen will have you browse for your firmware file. You should navigate to the FACTORY firmware file that you downloaded. I don’t know why but they didn’t include the option to enter Pwned DFU mode on the first screen of Redsn0w so you have to select a factory firmware file to bypass this part of the process

Step 2::


After you have selected the factory firmware file that you downloaded, if you have an iPhone 3Gs it will ask you whether you have the old or new(patched) model. If you have the new(MC) model then select “YES” this is VERY important, if you have the new model and you select no you will have to restore with a factory 4.1 firmware file which will take away the possibility to jailbreak. (To identify if you have MC or Non MC model, go to Settings – General – About and scroll down to Model. If it’s MCXXXX then you have new (MC) model. If it’s something like MBXXXX, then you have old (non MC) model.)

Step 3::

Now click “next” and you will see Redsn0w apply kernel patches to the IPSW you selected.

Step 4::

On the next screen is where you’re gonna have a few different options. You may see more options than what are shown below, the important thing is that you want to select ONLY the option which is “Just enter pwned DFU mode right now” This option is basically doing what the DFU button in Pwnage Tool for Mac users does.

Step 5::

This is another CRUCIAL step, I cannot stress enough that you should ALWAYS read instructions carefully and make sure you are doing things right. Please power off your device while the device is plugged into the computer. DO NOT click “next” until your device is both powered off AND plugged into the computer.

Step 6::

This is a step we should all be quite familiar with, now we have to put the device into DFU mode. Just follow the on-screen instructions exactly how they are displayed and you will be fine.

Step 7::

If for whatever reason things get screwed up and you didn’t follow the instructions correctly you will see a screen like the one below. If that is the case please start over and read carefully, if you do not see a screen like the one below please continue to the next step!

Step 8::

Alright, we are nearly there! Congratulations on making it this far! We are but mere minutes away from having a jailbroken 4.1 device with the old(unlockable) baseband! After Redsn0w detects your device in DFU mode it will begin processing again and you will see it applying the Limera1n exploit to your device.

Step 9::

Alright, you are all set to restore your custom firmware! After you have applied the Limera1n exploit, you should see the screen below informing you that you should now be able to shift+restore in iTunes to restore with a custom firmware file. Click “Finish”

Step 10::

Now download the custom firmware for your phone and restore it
(using shift and restore)

After jailbreaking your device follow the steps mentioned below to unlock your device.

Step 1: Launch Cydia from your device Springboard.

Step 2: Tap on Manage and select “Sources“.

Step 3: Touch on “Edit” and then on “Add“.

Step 4: You will be prompted to add the source URL http://repo666.ultrasn0w.com(its zero in Ultrasn0w) as shown in the image below.

Step 5: After the source has been added, use the Search option and type Ultrasn0w to search and install it.

Step 6: Restart iPhone after installing Ultrasn0w. You should now have unlocked iPhone 4 on iOS 4.3 GM.

Unlock Verizon iPhone 4: Is it Possible?

Lots of people are asking us – “Is there any tool available to unlock Verizon iPhone 4“? Although, we can unlock iPhone 4 on AT&T using Ultrasn0w, but can it be used on Verizon network to unlock CDMA iPhone on baseband 01.51.00?

Interestingly, iPhone 4 on Verizon is riding on Qualcomm MDM6600 chip. This is the same chipset as the Droid Pro world phone and supports both GSM and CDMA, which means that Apple *could* have supported GSM! So can it be used to work on AT&T? No! The Verizon phone cannot be used on a GSM network, as it lacks a SIM card. The Verizon phone will only work on CDMA systems not only due to the lack of a SIM but also because of the antennas: as iFixit notes, “this phone supports two cellular frequency bands, while Apple supports five bands in the GSM version.”

According to iOS hacker pyte, unlocking CDMA iPhone 4 would require an ESN/MEID from a donor phone w/ service which is a US federal crime. Even Musclenerd, confirmed that unlocking a VZW iPhone requires adjustment in CDMA settings per-carrier.

And, if unlocked, it will only work with Sprint network and you’d have to approach Sprint to activate your unlocked iPhone 4, which doesn’t seem to be plausible. So you cannot unlock CDMA iPhone 4 at all, neither any tool is available, as of now.

Chose wisely! Unlocking iPhone 4 is very much required, when you are moving out of US and you want to use your iPhone in other countries as well. If you frequently move to other countries or going permanently out of USA, buy AT&T iPhone 4 “ONLY”.
